ANNOUNCEMENTS

We have just received word from the Hampton Inn in Benson that there are some rooms available for the reunion weekend.  Apparently, a few that were being held have been released.  They will probably go quickly.  The number for the Hampton Inn is 919-701-8000.

As of today, 210 classmates and guests have registered for the Reunion.

Remember the deadline is March 10, 2024.  Send your reservation form and check to your class agent or to me at address some on reservation form.

As of today (02/24/2024), 110 BHS classmates and guests are coming to the Reunion on April 6, 2024. If you have not returned your Reservation Form, please do so as soon as possible.  With the great early response, we are anticipating 300 plus attendees.  Remember the reservation deadline is March 15.

If you have not received registration information and a registration form, please contact your class agent or email me at ohw@narronwenzel.com, and I will send you the form.

If you plan to stay overnight for the Reunion, unfortunately, the Hampton Inn in Benson is full due to a big event at Galot Motor Sports (formerly Benson-Dunn Drag Strip), which is being held on the weekend of our Reunion.  However, there are several very good motels in Smithfield at the outlet center and in Dunn at I-95/US 421 intersection, both of which have a Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn and others.  Google motels in Dunn and Smithfield for more information.  Or, better yet, camp out with a classmate who lives nearby.

Looking forward to seeing you on April 6.

Class Reunion

Close your eyes and see
Your friends as they used to be
Before life claimed them--
Drove them away from your side,
As it drove you far from them.

Listen to laughter,
The high pitched squeals of delight
At discoveries,
Exciting links to fresh life--
Deep, awakening tingles

Claimed your waking days
And led you to wild-eyed nights,
Alive, new essence
Coursed the high streets of your youth,
Out of control and with love.

Feel emotions rise
As neurons reconnect friends
To your current life;
Smell the fragrances of time
As you tread the path to them,

To the reunion
You're torn apart to attend
And find they're still gone,
Never to return to you
Though you hug and say, "hello!"

The past, the future
Swirl in a maddening dance;
You're alone again--
Conflicting earmark of youth
Regained of a moment's glance

'Til epiphany
Opens your eyes wide to see
The fullness ahead—
With a loving past as guide
To the cherished life you've built.
