Have lived in Benson all of my life with the exception of 4 years in Chapel Hill and 2 years directly after that in Wake County. Graduated from UNC w/BS in Industrial Relations with major in psychology, married to classmate, Barbara Parker in 1966 (deceased as of June 23, 2015), worked a couple of years as a rehab counselor with NC Dept. of Corrections, then 23 years with Chicopee (Johnson & Johnson) as the Personnel Manager, operated Jerry Lambert Photography with Barbara from 1966 through 2005, sold used cars in the front yard of our home for 15 years, spent 43 years acquiring real estate, some of which was sold for a profit, most of which is currently being rented - hence, we are now landlords. Have had a place at Emerald Isle, NC near the beach since 1968 - just last year, built a new house there where the old one stood until last year (gave it away). We travel quite a bit, having camped or traveled in all 50 states, most of the Canadian provinces, and many foreign countries, including: The Bahamas, Puerto Rico , Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, The Vatican City, Monaco, Greece, Liechtenstein , Austria, the Chez Republic, Hungary & Poland. This Fall we are re-visiting Rome and Spain and are also traveling to The Canary Islands and Bermuda. We also like to cruise, having cruised to Alaska and to several Canadian ports on both coasts, as well as the Carribean. We once sailed on the "Sea Diamond", which sunk in 1200 feet of water in a Greek port - which, of course, we were not on at the time. We have worked hard and for many hours a week during the years since 1962, so that we could afford to retire and enjoy the beach, camping in the mountains, and traveling. We have 6 beautiful grandchildren, ages 19, 15, 13, 11, 9 and 4 - 2 boys and 4 girls.
I lost Barbara on June 23, 2015, after a 2 year battle with lung cancer (not a smoker), which came back in her spine, brain, and adrenal glans. She put up a good fight. We were an item from the 10th grade, and were married almost 49 years. She was 70. She was my rock and pillar and had always been by my side. I miss her so much.
