In Memory

Tommy Penny - Class Of 1971

Tommy was a great person, full of life and fun as I remember hm and a good friend.  We were not able to stay in touch because you all know how we have things and other tasks that we must tend but it really hits home when we hear of such a loss of someone in our own memory.  Many of us called Tommy "The Cookie Man" and will have fond memories of him for many years.

Tommy was a trip. He was always up beat and full of life, and telling jokes. He made Coach Pell's day everyday. I wish I could have been around him more after our school days.

Tommy was a good friend and was always full of fun. We lost contact after school, in fact I don't recall much at SJ, only from the Benson yrs. He,Lavone Ennis, Gary Warren and myself turned a '69 Chevelle upside down on Thunder Rd in Four Oaks. I want say who was driving, although it was my car. The car came to rest on it's top and we where disoriented, trying to get out, I remember Tommy saying "DON'T PANIC BOYS" as he commenced to kick out the back glass in order to escape. We were only babies(16 yrs. old) It's hard to believe that's been 40 yrs. ago. Where ever Tommy is, I'm sure he's cracking jokes and having fun. We loved him !!

I knew (and so laughed with) Tommy when we were in junior high. Time and circumstances separated us. He was a true friend with whom the passing years would have been better for sharing with him.
